Yeah, I was confused about a WR in round 2 but I guess the OTs that were available at the time weren't worth a 2nd round pick. I also think people need to stop griping about the Eli trade. It's over and done with. He's our guy and probably will be for a long time. He's not his brother and I think G-Men fans need to be a little more patient with him.
On a finishing note, I'm psyched about Coach Spag. I think this guy is going to put a nasty defense on the field and I think he will be the head coach some day.

I thought the draft was AWFUL. Reese is a brutally poor GM. He has completely hampered the Giants for this season. Think about this telling stat: When Eli was protected by a healthy Luke P. last year the team was 6-2, and then when Luke went down the team went 2-6. Now I understand that maybe Luke was overpaid, but what left tackle in the NFL isn’t? And I also understand that he is false start prone and injury prone….however – he is better than nobody, right? I mean he is a proven, starter on the O-line and he has given everything to the Giants, and they cut him? It’s so frustrating because no one else was available and they cut him for nothing (i.e., didn’t even try to trade him for a pick). I think Reese thought he could cut him and then re-sign him at a discount and it completely backfired.

What a frustrating run for Giants GM’s – first Acorsi sells the farm to get Eli when he could have had Phillips Rivers, Shaune Merriman and Nate Kaeding instead of Eli (and think about where are the Giants weak right now: LB and Kicker, among other glaring weaknesses). And then Reese cuts Luke P. for nothing and doesn’t even draft an O-Line guy until the 5th round. What a brutal run.

Two weeks until the draft, and the 2007 schedule is out. Any thoughts?

Fine, if Greg won't write, I will:

I don't like the idea of trading the #1 for Briggs. He seems too much like a me first guy - although he's very talented. Doesn't seem like Coughlin's type of player.

Anyway, I haven't seen all of their schedule yet; but we know that they have the opener against Dallas. Let's hope that's in Dallas - that would mean they get the 'Boys in Giants Stadium towards the end of the yr. I don't like the trip to London, but at least you get a bye wk afterwards

I don't really give a shit what happens this year, especially in free agency. In fact, less is more: the fewer moves they make, the greater the chance that Coughlin has a shitty season and gets fired (and then let the Belichek or Cowher rumors start). I've already written this season off. When this team has expectations about a season, they completely blow it. When they are supposed to suck, they play ok. But I can't really stand any of the guys on the team anyway. Plax and Shockey are too me-first for my taste and Eli seems more and more like a d-bag (not to mention bust). Coughlin is such a total asshole I'm shocked that the Giants haven't fired him after his ridiculous hitler comment. Even Strahan has spent way too much time injured lately. I'm just glad they have some back-ups capable of big minutes at DE.

This team has way too many question marks. And cutting Petitgou was such a ridiculous move. OL guys are nearly impossible to come by and he didn't want to leave in the first place. He wasn't that bad in the first place and I would rather have him and more depth than jus cut him. Fucking ridiculous.

I think that Reese - and I know this is early - but I think he has already proven that he isn't the right guy for the job. I'm so disappointed in everything this fucking organization has done lately. Keepng Coughlin, hiring Reese, whiffing on all of these guys in free agency. I mean seriously, like why didn't they even try for Adalius Thomas? Oh yeah, because EVERY PLAYER IN THE FUCKING NFL HATES COUGHLIN!! How the fuck are you supposed to recruit quality players when a) the team recruiting you is universally hated b) the organization has the coache's balls in their pocket and c) you don't even know if ANY of the coaches will be around in one year??!?

Basically, I'm pissed because I think that the GMen organization has essentially written off 2007. It sucks, and it is unfair, but making Coughlin a lame duck and then not doing anything in free agency is a sure sign that the execs could care less about how he does. Why they wouldn't blow it all up and start over is completely beyond me, especially when they were certain they would hire Reese, which, obviously, they were. Forget it, I'm pissed. Fuck them.

What is this entry? The Valentine's Day episode of "Saved By the Bell"?

By the way, don't really give a fuck about Eli doing his thing. Don't really see how it has any bearing on anything...as long as this shit doesn't happen the night before games. Honestly, who am I to judge? We're all capable of doing shit that, if caught on camera, would make us look like the biggest tools/douche bags (one or the other, depending on the activity). Crutches and HomeComing Party?? If only I caught that on camera... Catch my drift?

Nonetheless, the "armchair jockey" comment was kind of a big fucking joke.
