The Cleveland Browns announced several hires today, adding quarterbacks coach Mark Whipple, wide receivers...
You learn how to jump when you are just a little kid. Although the skill is definitely needed more in the NBA, it can be a very nice skill to have in the NFL as well. If you are a defensive lineman, it helps to block a quarterback's passes. If you are a safety or cornerback it is even more important to be able to jump higher than a receiver to knock down or intercept a pass. Obviously a receiver that can jump high is a great asset to an offense because a quarterback can just toss it deep in the corner and let the receiver jump up and grab it.
It's a subject still touchy to Buffalonians, despite the fact that two decades have passed since the Bills played in the first of what would become four consecutive Super Bowls. The problem is that the historic accomplishment is tempered by the fact that each was a bitter loss. The Lombardi Trophy was never brought back to Buffalo. No less than six Bills of the era would be inducted into the Hall of Fame, including coach Marv Levy and owner Ralph Wilson, but none got a Super Bowl ring.
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay Packers fullback John Kuhn certainly values his Super Bowl ring, keeping it in a safe at his house and only taking it out from time to time.

One of the newer tests at the NFL scouting combine is the 60-yard shuttle, where players are trying to show their lateral quickness, burst, and acceleration in short areas. It's all about how fast a player can get from one point to another, taking into account their starting and stopping speeds along the way. Great times in the 60-yard shuttle are around 11 seconds total, as the players go 10 yards to one side, back 20 yards to another cone, and then finish by going back to the starting point.
