NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The San Francisco 49ers never have tasted defeat in a Super Bowl, going 5-0. It's the most impressive mark for any franchise in the big game.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (13-6) vs. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (13-4-1)
There are days when New York Giants' punter Steve Weatherford feels the emptiness, especially considering that a year ago this week, he and his teammates were getting ready to play in the Super Bowl.
Now all that's left is the commercials. There's no need to watch the Super Bowl for the actual game, at least not with PredictionMachine.com having run 50,000 simulations of Sunday's Super Bowl matchup and determining that the San Francisco 49ers will beat the Baltimore Ravens by a likely score of 28 to 21. The simulations gave the edge to the 49ers' run and pass offense over the Ravens' defense and perhaps most importantly, an edge to the 49ers' run defense in stopping the Ravens' rushing attack. From the 50,000 simulations, PredictionMachine.com had the 49ers winning 66.9 percent of the time. But while a touchdown spread and a relatively narrow game is the most likely winning margin for the 49ers, there is a 38.6 percent chance that San Francisco wins by more than 10 points. In other words, the simulation likes the 49ers an awful lot. What else does the computer foresee happening? [Related: Report: Niners CB says openly gay players not welcome ]
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Randy Moss strolled to the podium on Super Bowl media day - his 49ers hat tilted slightly to the left, his sleeves rolled up high to reveal a cross tattooed on one arm, a large ''R'' tattooed on the other.

Unlike his previous Super Bowl, the Ravens' legend didn't strike a defiant tone when questions about his role in a double murder came up.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Mario Manningham hobbled into the Superdome stands on crutches and found an out-of-the-way seat to watch his San Francisco teammates go through media day frenzy on the field below, his emotions mixed.
