April 2017

For these rounds, there were guest announcers who were former players of the Eagles’ division rivals — the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and New York Giants. And yes, they had fun riling up the Philly crowd. First, former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson riled up the crowd as he announced the Cowboys’ No. 60 overall pick.

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Wayne Gallman is the latest Tiger to be picked in the NFL Draft. The former Clemson running back was taken in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Gallman rushed for 1,133 yards this past season to earn a spot on the media’s All-ACC second team. He also scored 17 rushing touchdowns, which is tied for the most in a single season in school history. In his career, Gallman has rushed for 3,428 yards and 34 touchdowns on 676 carries. He ended his career in third for the most rushing touchdowns in program history. Gallman becomes the fourth Clemson player selected in this year's draft.

With that being the case, it should come as no surprise that Super Bowl Sunday always has been (and always will be) a day where ordinary players become National Football League legends, and a day where teams are able to prove they deserve to be mentioned among the best squads in NFL history. On the flip side, Super Bowl Sunday also presents players and teams with an opportunity to forever live in sports infamy. For every player and team that surprisingly turn in a big-time performance in the big game, there are those who crumble under the pressure of playing for a world championship.

The New York Giants may have found Eli Manning’s successor by selecting California quarterback Davis Webb in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Webb was a graduate transfer from Texas Tech last season. He threw for 4,295 yards, 37 touchdowns, and

The New York Giants added brains and brawn when they selected Alabama defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. General manager Jerry Reese selected Tomlinson to compete the spot vacated by Johnathan Hankins. Hankins departed in free agency to sign with the Indianapolis Colts.

It didn't take the New York Giants long to find a replacement for defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, and they may have found one for Eli Manning, too. After taking Dalvin Tomlinson of Alabama in the second round of the NFL draft, the Giants drafted a potential down-the-road replacement for the 36-year-old Manning, taking California quarterback Davis Webb in the third round. ''We hope Eli continues to play at a high level and this guy can develop, hopefully,'' general manager Jerry Reese said.

The Latest on the NFL draft (all times Eastern): 11:35 p.m. James Conner's battle with cancer didn't stop the Pittsburgh running back from reaching the NFL. Conner won't even have to leave Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected the running back in the third round of the draft on Friday night, believing Conner can provide a physical presence to take some of the pressure off star Le'Veon Bell. Conner was the 2014 ACC Player of the Year after scoring a school-record 26 rushing touchdowns. His junior year was cut short first by a knee injury and then by a cancer diagnosis. Conner spent six months undergoing treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma and was cleared in time for the 2016 season. He grew

Eli Manning is 36 years old. The New York Giants aren’t waiting for Manning to retire to get his possible successor. In the third round of Friday’s NFL draft, the Giants took Cal quarterback Davis Webb.

It's easier to recognize the former Villanova defensive end's talent. The Chiefs selected Kpassagnon with the 59th overall pick in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday night in Philadelphia. The three-day draft, which concludes on Saturday, is being held less than 20 miles from Villanova's campus.
