After an historic comeback to win Super Bowl 51, the New England Patriots may also be the winners of the offseason. Not known for flashy free-agency moves, the Patriots had an unusual offseason in which they spent big to lure some big-name talent — a scary thought for the rest of the NFL. Now, according to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, there is growing buzz that this Patriots team could go undefeated and win the Super Bowl, becoming the first team in NFL history to have a 19-0 season.

Beckham, who is one of the NFL’s most recognizable names, signed a five-year deal worth about $5 million annually – more than twice the amount Nike previously shelled out for its most expensive NFL deal, according to ESPN. By comparison, James’ lifetime deal with Nike is worth a purported $1 billion, while Harden’s deal with Adidas is worth $200 million over 13 years – and they’re just two among many NBA players who have nine-figure shoe deals.

Star New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and sports apparel giant Nike Inc. agreed this week to the largest shoe contract an NFL player has ever received, according to multiple reports. Beckham’s deal with the brand is worth about $5 million annually over five years, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported. Aside from wearing Nike footwear and apparel, Beckham will reportedly serve as a brand spokesman in campaigns beyond the football space.

Nike Inc. Nike reportedly matched a counteroffer from Adidas. The website, noting Beckham's desire to become a "brand icon,'' said there is a clause that can escalate the contract to make it an eight-year deal worth $48 million.

The reason for his absence wasn't clear, but he doesn't necessarily need to give one. All 10 of the OTA sessions the Giants will hold over the next three weeks are part of the voluntary offseason program. The only mandatory event this offseason for Giants players is the team's three-day minicamp, which is scheduled for June 13-15. Still, Beckham's

No, the Giants' line did not play well last season, and no, the team didn't do much to improve the personnel this offseason. But as Pugh, a fifth-year veteran, said on Monday, continuity "is the most important thing with offensive line play." The Giants definitely have that. Last season, they lined up most of the time with Ereck Flowers at left tackle, Pugh at left guard, Weston Richburg at center, John Jerry at right guard and Bobby Hart
