Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis gave his Facebook and Twitter followers a Throwback Thursday treat ahead of schedule this week. Davis posted a photo from decades ago of Panthers owner Jerry Richardson in his Baltimore Colts jersey for his boss’ 81st birthday on Tuesday. “Everyone please help me wish the best owner in the entire @NFL Mr. Jerry Richardson a very Happy Birthday!!” Davis wrote on his Facebook post. Richardson, a wide receiver out of Wofford College, played two years for the Colts. Though his stay in the NFL was short, Richardson capped his rookie season with a memorable catch, a 12-yard touchdown pass from Johnny Unitas in the 1959 NFL Championship. The Colts won their

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott could reportedly be suspended one or two games stemming from a 2016 domestic violence accusation and was reportedly involved in a separate altercation at a bar in Dallas on Sunday. Elliott received a report from the NFL regarding its investigation, and he is expected to submit a response soon, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  A former girlfriend of Elliott, according to ESPN, accused him of assaulting her multiple times in a span of a week, however charges were not filed against Elliott, according to ESPN. Washington has until Monday, 1 p.m., to presumably take quarterback Kirk Cousins off the 2018 market for any interested teams. It does not look as if a long-term deal is coming before the league-imposed deadline, which means Cousins would continue to be a person of interest for the 49ers – and their fan base – throughout the upcoming season. Kyle Shanahan, of course, was Cousins’ first offensive coordinator when he came into the league in 2012. Cousins saw limited action in his first two NFL seasons under the Shanahans. But after taking over as the full-time quarterback, Cousins has thrived. He started 32 games the past two seasons and completed 68 percent of his passes for 9,083 yards with 54

Former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs, believes the Giants have the team to win the Super Bowl this season, per Christian Red of NY Daily News.  Jacobs knows what it takes to win a Super Bowl having notched two in his eight years with the Giants. For this year's Giants to make it to the championship game, he thinks its the offensive line that makes or breaks the team. "If the offensive line can block, I've got (the Giants) in the final game," Jacobs said at mariano Rivera's charity golf outing at Winged Foot Golf Club Monday. "If the offensive line can come alive and they run the ball a little more effectively this year than they've done in the past, I think there should be no one out there to stop

Coach Mike McCarthy would not put the team on his back after they got a lead, according to former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings. Jennings was on Fox Sports "Undisputed" on Wednesday, and while discussing why the Packers have only won one Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, Jennings pointed to how McCarthy handles leads as a key reason. "If we had a lead, our issue wasn't the defense, our issue was Mike McCarthy—cause he would cuff us," Jennings said.
