After a challenging Week 2 test against the Kansas City Chiefs and former Eagles head coach Andy Reid that resulted in a 27-20 loss, the Birds returned to Lincoln Financial Field for their home opener against the winless New York Giants in Week 3.   After taking a 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter, the Giants rallied with two touchdowns from Odell Beckham Jr. and one from Sterling Shepard to seize control of the lead. The Eagles would respond with a Corey Clement touchdown run to tie the game at 21. After the teams exchanged field goals, Carson Wentz drove the Eagles 19 yards in three plays to set up the game-winning 61-yard field goal by rookie Jake Elliott. A 27-24 victory over the Giants puts

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles staged a furious final quarter that ultimately saw the Eagles win after a last-second, franchise-record field goal from their rookie kicker that dropped New York to a surprising 0-3. New York Giants’ Odell Beckham (R) celebrates with Sterling Shepard after a touchdown during the second half of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

New York Giants owner John Mara has voiced his displeasure with star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after he was penalised for mimicking a dog urinating during a touchdown celebration. The New York Post quoted Mara as saying that Beckham faced internal discipline from the Giants following the incident, which was penalised during the game. "I do not want to get into a discussion about this, but I will say that I am very unhappy with Odell's behavior on Sunday and we intend to deal with it internally," Mara was quoted as saying.

The Houston Texans went into Gillette Stadium Sunday and gave the New England Patriots a hell of a game. Deshaun Watson had the best performance of his young rookie season, while the defensive line terrorized Tom Brady all afternoon. Despite some mistakes and unlucky swings, the Texans found themselves in position to pull off the road upset and send New England to 1-2. No rookie quarterback has ever beaten Bill Belichick’s Patriots at Gillette Stadium. I know this because Scott Hanson of NFL RedZone said it about 80,000 times on Sunday, but it’s an impressive streak nonetheless. Watson and the Texans were so close to making history and scoring a signature win. Holding on to a slim 30-28 lead,

With the fantasy season approaching the quarter mark, we examine the best tight ends available on the wire. Week 3 of the fantasy football season has come and gone. The byes are still a week away, but fantasy owners should always be scouring the waiver wire for potential gems.

The New England Patriots were the most popular pick to win this season’s Super Bowl. If you wanted to be different and not pick the Patriots, you probably picked the Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither of them has looked like a Super Bowl team so far.

The Buccaneers are disappointed and hurting, with linebacker Lavonte David, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and pass rusher Noah Spence among key players nursing injuries following the team's first loss of the season. David left Sunday's 34-17 defeat at Minnesota with what initially was believed to be a high left ankle sprain that could have sidelined him for at least a month, however coach Dirk Koetter seemed optimistic Monday that the injury is not as severe as originally feared. McCoy aggravated a right ankle injury suffered the previous week against Chicago.

"Yeah, I certainly disagree with what he said," Brady said on Boston sports talk station WEEI during his weekly radio interview. "I have immense respect and admiration for our players, for how they conduct themselves professionally as New England Patriots and for how they represent themselves, their families and community as men," Belichick said.

The New York Giants have fallen into a deep pit three games into the season, and their chances of getting out are not good. Compounding the Giants' problem is that they are now 0-2 in the NFC East. Coach Ben McAdoo on Monday reiterated the Giants' problems are mostly self-inflicted in discussing their heart-breaking 27-24 loss to the Eagles on a last-second, 61-yard field goal by rookie Jake Elliott.

No one wins a competitive fantasy league without making a few smart in-season pickups. Each week throughout the NFL season, we identify six players to target on waiver wires, plus a lightly owned D/ST. All are available in a majority of Yahoo leagues and approved for immediate use. Smallwood received a dozen carries in Philly’s win against the Giants on Sunday, rushing for 71 yards (5.9 YPC).
