Green Bay Packers tight end Martellus Bennett revealed he was leaning towards retiring when the NFL season is over. Now in his 10th season in the NFL, Bennett was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2008 draft.

Money, fame, and 28 gold medals isn’t enough to equate to happiness if you ask Michael Phelps. “I didn’t want to live anymore,” Michael Phelps tells Yahoo. TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals have placed quarterback Carson Palmer on injured reserve after he underwent surgery for a broken left arm. The move means Palmer would not be able to play until the next-to-last game of the season, Dec. 24 at

Figuring out what went wrong this season isn't the New York Giants' biggest problem heading into the bye week. With a 1-6 record, the Giants probably are going to miss the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons, and co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch have to consider some housecleaning. General manager Jerry Reese is certainly on the hot seat.

The NFL trade deadline is nearly upon us, and the question is: Life Post-54, where can the Patriots find LB help at the deadline? giardi-headshot.png MIKE GIARDI: First, let's start with the teams that suck on wheat, rye and pumpernickel

Carson Wentz's Philadelphia Eagles are the class of the NFC East, while Eli Manning's New York Giants are looking toward 2018. Every World Series is like a Netflix show—extensive, often overlong and a touch bloated in the middle, with storylines that seem so important early on completely forgotten by the conclusion.

There are six teams on bye (Arizona, Green Bay, Jacksonville, LA Rams, NY Giants, and Tennessee), but we still have a bunch of news to get to in Thursday’s Dose. We’ve made it more than halfway through the fantasy regular season for most leagues out there. Week 7 continued the trend of having a major injury, this time to Carson Palmer while also continuing to be an overall low-scoring week with subpar passing

General manager Jerry Reese has accepted responsibility for the New York Giants' dismal play in a season that started with legitimate Super Bowl hopes and now sees them mired with one win in seven games. Speaking as the Giants prepared to leave for their bye week, Reese said he put the current roster together so the blame falls on him. The 54-year-old believes that the Giants have good players, they can make adjustments and they will perform well in their final nine games.
