Three people filed a lawsuit Monday against New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker, claiming that he robbed them at gunpoint during a May cookout in Florida, court records show. The civil lawsuit filed in Broward County court seeks $100,000 in damages. Baker was formally charged Aug. 7 with four counts of robbery with a firearm stemming from the cookout.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who also was arrested in May, won't be prosecuted because of insufficient evidence, prosecutors previously said.

The New York Giants have only made one playoff appearance since they last won the Super Bowl in 2011. The franchise is currently stuck in its worst rut since the 1970s, though they look like they may finally be able to turn it around soon. Gone are Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin.

Albert Breer of the MMQB is reporting that the New York Giants are working out center Jon Halapio. Though he is listed on the “Tryout” list for Monday, Halapio’s workout will actually be Tuesday. As Giants’ fans know, Halapio was the team’s starting center the last two years.

Logan Ryan is joining the Giants on a one-year deal.

The Las Vegas Raiders released veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara on Monday and will instead go with unproven players in the secondary. Amukamara was signed as a free agent to provide a veteran presence in the secondary across from second-year cornerback Trayvon Mullen. The Raiders will plan to start the season with Arnette and Mullen as the starting outside cornerbacks.

The New York Giants have signed New Jersey native Logan Ryan to one-year contract worth $7.5 million, a person with knowledge of the situation told NorthJersey.com and the USA TODAY NETWORK. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not been officially announced. Ryan later appeared to confirm the move on Twitter: Ryan, a defensive back, won two Super Bowl titles during four years with the New England Patriots.
