Odell Beckham Jr. isn't satisfied being the NFL's highest-paid receiver. The three-time Pro Bowler for the New York Giants wants much more than the $95 million deal the team agreed to pay him Monday. The 25-year-old wants to be one of the best to play in the NFL.

The New York Giants signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a five-year extension, the team announced Monday, reportedly making him the highest-paid wideout in NFL history. According to NFL Network, the deal averages $20 million over the first three seasons. The annual average ($19 million) and guaranteed money are both records among wide receivers, eclipsing the contracts of Antonio Brown ($17 million annually) and Mike Evans ($55 million guarantee).

The #Giants and WR Odell Beckham Jr have agreed to terms on a 5-year extension worth a whopping $95M, source said. In his first three seasons, Beckham caught 288 passes for 4,122 yards and 35 touchdowns, becoming the first player in NFL history to put up those numbers in the first three years of a career.

Despite a review by the NFL competition committee, there will be no changes to the controversial helmet rule established in the spring, NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent announced Wednesday. "The committee resolved that there will be no changes to the rule as approved by clubs this spring," Vincent said, "which includes no additional use of instant replay. Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer even opined Monday that the rule might end up costing people jobs.

Baker Mayfield played on a big stage at Oklahoma, so he's not scared of stepping onto football's biggest one. The Browns rookie quarterback - and perhaps their QB of the future - will make his NFL exhibition debut Thursday night as Cleveland visits the New York Giants in a game that will feature the top two overall picks in this year's draft: Mayfield and Giants running back Saquon Barkley. ''Played this game for a long time, I don't get nervous,'' said Mayfield, currently No. 2 on Cleveland's depth chart behind Tyrod Taylor.

Saquon Barkley got an incredulous look on his face when asked if he was hoping to play in the New York Giants' preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. Hoping was not an option as far as the second overall pick in the NFL draft was concerned. The halfback from Penn State wants to play, even though the Giants cut back his workload last week, leaving many to wonder if he was a little dinged after 10 days of training camp.
