Sept 15 (The Sports Xchange) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman will likely seek a trade, according to CBS Sports. Freeman's relationship with coach Greg Schiano is reportedly irreparable, and the trade deadline is Oct. 29. Schiano revealed last week why Freeman missed a team photo, further alienating the 25-year-old quarterback. Freeman admitted that he overslept. Multiple executives from other NFL teams told CBS Sports they believe Schiano never endorsed Freeman as quarterback. Freeman was drafted in the first round a year before Schiano arrived at Tampa Bay from Rutgers. ...
Sept 14 (The Sports Xchange) - The New York Jets placed quarterback Mark Sanchez on short-term injured reserve, the team announced on Saturday. Sanchez, who has a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, can be activated after the 10th game of the season. He must miss at least six weeks of practice and eight games. He was injured in the fourth quarter of the Jets' third preseason game against the New York Giants when he was hit by defensive tackle Marvin Austin. ...
Sept 13 (The Sports Xchange) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson and Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews were fined by the NFL on Friday as a result of hits over the weekend. Goldson drew a $30,000 fine for "unnecessarily striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area" during the second quarter of Sunday's 18-17 loss to the New York Jets. Goldson was penalized for committing a personal foul after hitting Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland. Matthews was fined $15,000 for his late hit against San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. ...

Suh was penalized 15 yards for an illegal block during an interception return by Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy, who scored an apparent touchdown that gave Detroit the lead.
