Looking to improve after a disappointing 7-9 2013 season, the New York Giants raided two players from the Denver Broncos. Kick returner Trindon Holliday and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will leave Denver and play for New York this fall; In 2013, Holliday ranked No. 5 in the NFL on kick returns with an average of 27 yards. To ensure success on returns, the Giants also brought in former Chiefs return man Quintin Demps, who ranked No. 1 in the NFL with an average of more than 30 yards per kick return.
The Chicago Bears agreed to terms with former Detroit Lions defensive end Willie Young on a three-year contract and former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Domenik Hixon on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday. NFL.com reported Young's deal is for $9 million with $4 million in guarantees. Bears general manager Phil Emery has now added six unrestricted free agents in the first 48 hours of free agency, with Young and Hixon following defensive end Lamarr Houston (Raiders), safety Ryan Mundy (Giants) and linebacker Jordan Senn (Panthers) on Tuesday and safety M.D. Jennings (Packers) on Wednesday.
